Platte County names Christopher Kendall interim county treasurer after resignation

The Platte County Commission on March 17 appointed Christopher Kendall of Farley, Missouri, as interim county treasurer following the resignation of Rob Willard earlier that morning.
County Administrator Wes Minder said state statute requires the county commission to appoint an interim treasurer within two weeks of a treasurer’s resignation. After interviewing multiple candidates, the commission selected Kendall, whom Minder described as a lifelong Platte County resident with local finance experience.
"With this appointment, Mr. Kendall would take effect immediately as county treasurer; Rob Willard tendered his resignation earlier this morning," Minder said in presenting the order.
The commission voted 3-0 to approve the appointment. Commissioners then invited Kendall to the clerk’s desk for a swearing-in during the meeting record.
Ending: Kendall will serve as interim treasurer until a replacement is appointed by the governor, as required by state statute.
