“What you have in front of you is the recommended, totals to be distributed we received 92,345, dollars 1 thousand in requests. And then we have recommended $54,648 for, the grants,” Darren Willie said.
A county planning subgroup reviewed applications before the meeting; commissioners discussed that the county’s base AIS allocation for 2025 was $50,000 and that returned dollars from previous years raised the available total to roughly $51,200 (figures discussed during the meeting). Commissioners said the board allowed a modest oversubscription—about $3,000—to partially fund lake ambassador programs that county staff described as costly; Sullivan Lake and Shemina were cited as the two lakes in the county that run ambassador programs.
Motion and vote: Commissioner Winters made the motion to approve the staff recommendation; Commissioner Casper seconded. The chair called a roll call vote: Commissioner Casper — Aye; Commissioner Winter — Aye; Commissioner Moran — Aye; Commissioner Lemire — Aye; Commissioner Blaine — Aye. The motion carried.
