Planning commission hears development updates; public-works director on leave and interim named

Alliance Industries / sewer extension: Staff said Alliance Industries has submitted plans to the state and expects to start construction in spring after approvals; sewer-assessment financing will be coordinated with the company’s building financing.
Personnel update: City Administrator Aaron Johnson announced that Public Works Director Justin Behrens is on an indefinite leave of absence after a recent family bereavement. Roger Hansen was named interim public works director; staff said routine administrative duties and planning commission support will continue. Johnson also said the city intends to post the city-administrator position followed by the economic-development-director recruitment in the coming weeks and will use an outside recruitment firm for the economic-development search.
