Staff summarized figures: approximately $25,000 for the rental period and roughly $185,000 as the purchase price for the rented knuckle‑boom, leaving an estimated local net of about $40,000 depending on the insurance settlement. “We're just budgeting that so that if the garbage truck that they get, band aided and packing and going, if it was to, go down again, that we would have some money in the budget to, lease 1 until the, until our new 1 gets here,” Loretta said.

The finance director also outlined two grant‑related resolutions to be placed on the board’s agenda: a resolution to apply for the Department of Justice bulletproof‑vest grant (50% match) and a resolution to apply for the Blue Cross Healthy Place program (competitive grant). Staff said both resolutions grant permission to apply and that formal acceptance of awards would return to the board for action if grants are awarded.
Other administrative items included an update on court costs wording in the code and a motion to declare a 2004 Nissan Xterra surplus for sale on GovDeals. The board voted at the work session to move the presented ordinances, resolutions and authorizations forward for formal action at the regular meeting.
