Danny, a district facilities staff member, described the purpose: “The concrete pad is being put in place for a storage building that we desperately need. It'll be a ... 3 bay 36 by 48 building that'll sit on top of it. There also will be a concrete, pathway around the building.” He said the frame typically ships in 25 to 30 days and that, weather permitting, assembly and site restoration could finish in roughly eight weeks; that timetable would put completion in March, ahead of sports season start dates.
Funding and approvals: staff said the building purchase would come from capital projects funds and that city council approval is required to release those funds for ordering the building. A staff member said the Riverside savings referenced earlier were FEI grant money and that capital match clarifications would be provided as needed.
Votes and procedure: the committee approved the RFP award and then approved the contract at separate motions; both motions passed with voice votes (ayes). Committee members asked staff to provide follow‑up public information describing the pad and timeline.
Next steps: staff were asked to coordinate with the city to confirm capital project funding and to provide a clear procurement and installation schedule so the building can be ordered and installed in time for March occupancy, weather permitting.
