Committee hears updates on hazard-mitigation hearing, ETIP energy study, CRMC permits and April visit from Annette Grilli

Committee business and standing updates occupied the remainder of the March 4 Coastal Resilience Committee meeting in New Shoreham.
Town planner Allison Ring told the group the town’s hazard mitigation plan will be posted for public review and that a town-council public hearing is expected in early April (committee discussion referenced April 7 for a council hearing). Committee members were asked to watch the town website and the clerk’s office for the plan and the three-week public-comment period.
Energy: Kyle reported on the Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership (ETIP) study work and said allocated monies for the ETIP component have not been affected by recent federal grant pauses elsewhere. "The studies are continuing, and luckily the monies that were allocated for that have not been affected," Kyle said. The committee was asked to stay engaged when the study results are released in April–May.
Permitting: CRMC (Coastal Resources Management Council) permit records were checked and three local permits of interest remain under correspondence review: the landfill revetment and two Spring Street projects involving revetment or cribwork replacements. The committee chair said she would follow up to request the written correspondence from CRMC on these items.
Community engagement and schedule: Annette Grilli will visit the island on April 1 for a session the committee expects to include a field visit; the committee discussed quorum and public-notice issues for in-person site work. Members requested a short description of Grilli’s engagement be circulated for posting ahead of the April session. Committee members also requested that a large (print) working map of the island be made available at future meetings to facilitate location-specific discussion.
Administrative actions: the meeting approved the minutes of Feb. 4 with minor corrections (the minutes heading and a spelling correction noted). The meeting adjourned by motion near the end of the agenda.
