Town explores FY26 congressionally directed spending application; Coast Guard station rehabilitation suggested

She said the town's FY25 request for a $1 million resiliency project is still pending and that staff sees three feasible paths for a FY26 application: (1) rehabilitation of the U.S. Coast Guard station, (2) a boating facility concept with the Committee for the Great Salt Pond, or (3) sit out the round and focus on existing work.
"One area where there may be traction could be in rehabilitation for the Coast Guard station. We have about $1,800,000 in the next 2 years' capital plan for that project," Amy said. She told the council the timeframe was tight but that staff believed the town could prepare an application and would forward it to the council for review.
Council members asked whether the Coast Guard station application could realistically be prepared in time; Amy said yes, subject to workload, and committed to forward a copy of the application to the council when complete. No formal vote was taken; staff said it would proceed to draft an application focused on the Coast Guard station and circulate it for council review.
