Walnut Grove workshop narrows vision: sidewalks, trees, single-family and mixed‑use favored

Marilyn Hall, the consultant the town hired for Envision Walnut Grove, summarized survey results and led residents through a mapping exercise that produced a community-preferred vision emphasizing single‑family and mixed‑use development, more sidewalks, preserved green space and a traditional downtown streetscape.

"And the idea is to plan for the future so you can be ready instead of having the future happen to you as as you move forward over the years," Hall told the workshop. The session closed with table groups marking preferred areas for preservation, revitalization and new commercial or mixed‑use development; consultant Hall said she will compile the maps into a master plan and present recommendations to the City Council on May 29.
