During discussion trustees asked for clearer metrics and more frequent reporting on student achievement data (for example MAP and remedial indicators) and on supports for students with IEPs. Several trustees argued for keeping high-level continuity with last year's goals while refining actions and metrics.
Trustee Walt moved approval of the superintendent's 2025 goals with the addition of enhancing family engagement as an explicit goal; Trustee Barner seconded. The board took the motion by voice vote; the chair called for ayes and said the motion carries.
Why it matters: the superintendent's goals provide the board's framework for annual evaluation and guide district priorities for staffing, interventions, family outreach and student supports. Trustees asked staff to return with more regular achievement reporting and to define measurable family-engagement activities and metrics for future updates.
