The Ashwaubenon Public Works and Protection Committee on March 4, 2025, approved temporary alcohol license premise extensions for Margaritas of Wisconsin (DBA Margaritas), Red Lobster Hospitality LLC (DBA Red Lobster) and Buffalo Wild Wings to allow expanded outdoor seating and activities for the NFL draft and other events.

The extensions—each reviewed by the village’s public safety staff—were approved by the committee and will proceed to the Village Board where noted. Committee members voted in favor during the meeting; no committee member registered opposition on the record.

Margaritas of Wisconsin requested a temporary premise extension at 1241 Lombardi Access Road, Suite A, to allow additional outdoor patron space under a 40-by-80-foot tent for the NFL draft. "This request has been reviewed by the public safety department and has no objections from them for approval," said Gary, a village staff member who presented the application. Committee members approved the extension; the presenter said the item will go to the Village Board at its April meeting on April 15 at 5:00 p.m.

Red Lobster Hospitality LLC sought a temporary extension for an exterior area adjacent to its licensed premises at 1251 Lombardi Access Road. The applicant requested a longer window—beginning as early as April 21 through April 27, 2025—to accommodate draft-related activities. Public safety reviewed the application and recommended approval; the committee voted to approve the extension.

Buffalo Wild Wings (presented as Blazing/Blaze and Wings, DBA Buffalo Wild Wings) requested a change that would allow administrative approval, through the chief of public safety, of three-day exterior premise extensions surrounding Green Bay Packers game days and Resch Center events. The first event the applicant sought to use the amendment for was the NFL draft; the application identified three draft days for which outdoor premises would be used. The applicant initially listed amplified-sound hours as 9 a.m. to 12 a.m.; staff said that was corrected to 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the extension as presented did not request an ordinance exemption for amplified sound. A nearby resident, Mary, who said she lives across the street, raised a concern during the public comment portion: "I just noticed that it says I saw it before, that you'll be projecting sound back to the street," she said, adding she did not want sound projected into the north and asked about impacts to parking. Village staff responded that public safety had reviewed the plan and that administrative approvals for similar extensions have been granted previously for venues in the sports and entertainment district. The committee approved the license amendment.
