The commission’s vote followed staff presentation and brief public comment from a neighboring resident. Melissa Morris, a county planner, told the board the application "meets all of our comp plan LDC requirements and it is compatible with the surrounding area," and that the county’s recent Land Development Code revision authorizes larger ADUs on large parcels.
