Northampton County proclaims April 2025 as PA 811 Safe Digging Month

The proclamation notes that Pennsylvania law requires excavators or homeowners to provide at least three business days’ notice before digging and highlights that the Pennsylvania One Call system processed over one million excavation notifications in 2024 while transmitting roughly six million notices to member facility operators.
Mr. Ryan Parrish, who was present to accept the proclamation, urged residents to “call 3 days in advance before you guys do any excavation” and reminded homeowners that if they hire an excavator, the excavator should make the 811 notification to avoid liability for damages.
