City to bid 2025 street program and expand crack-sealing; plans target mid-May bid opening

Staff said the city’s targeted investment for the streets program is $1,000,000 and that some “best of the worst” streets may be included as alternates so the city can flex the award based on bid pricing. Staff also reported plans to expand the crack-sealing program and aim to double the lane miles treated this year compared with last year.
The city said it will provide the Services Committee a list of proposed primary and secondary streets and the alternates before bidding so committee members can review the full street list prior to award. Staff said the bid-opening target is mid-May and that design submissions are expected by the end of April.
No final awards were made at the April 2 meeting; staff said they will proceed with design completion and return with a bid package and schedule.
