Charlestown introduces new senior planner as outgoing planner says she will remain available

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. — At the start of the Feb. 26 meeting the Planning Commission introduced incoming senior planner Sean Penrinson and acknowledged the last meeting for outgoing town planner Jane Weidman.
David (staff) introduced Penrinson, noting his experience at the city level and in smaller towns, and asked him to say a few words. Sean Penrinson told the commission, "I've been in municipal planning in the state for about 10 years, but this is my first role as the town planner. So I'm looking forward to it." Penrinson said he has worked previously in Hopkinton, North Kingstown and Warwick and will serve as the town's senior planner.
Jane Weidman said the office transition had been successful, that she had trained and transferred electronic files to Penrinson, and that she would remain available for questions: "I'm absolutely available for any questionings, anything at all... I'll even come in if it's necessary." Commissioners and staff thanked Weidman for her service and noted her role as the town's legislative liaison and contributions to state-level planning discussions.
No formal action was required to introduce staff. The commission proceeded to the public hearing and other agenda items after the introduction.
