The Little Compton Town Council voted to adopt the Reservoir Dam emergency action plan and to forward it to state agencies with corrections noted by local reviewers.
Councilors credited local emergency officials, including the fire chief and town emergency planners, for developing the plan in coordination with the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) and the Department of Environmental Management. The plan sets out local response roles for fire and police in the event of a dam emergency.
Councilor remarks included minor corrections from a council reviewer (referred to in the meeting as Mr. Muschamp); the motion adopted the plan with those corrections and authorized staff to forward the final document to the state agencies for their records and coordination.
The motion to adopt the plan and forward it with corrections passed by voice vote.
