The St. Bernard Parish School Board recorded a series of unanimous votes at its March 25 regular meeting, approving minutes, personnel actions, requests to advertise bids and proposals, and a property-insurance renewal.
The board approved incorporation of the general committee meeting minutes from March 11, 2025, into the March 25 minutes (Agenda item 3.1). Miss Creason moved and Mr. Long seconded; the motion passed 9–0.
The board approved the regular monthly meeting minutes of Feb. 18, 2025, as published on March 21, 2025 (Agenda item 3.2). Miss Dysart moved and Miss Lee Bowman seconded; the motion passed 9–0.
On procurement and administrative actions (Agenda items 5.2–5.7), the board granted permission to advertise to bid or request proposals for: the official journal for fiscal year 2025–26; painting and body repairs for 2025–26; fuel and related fluids for 2025–26; paper, cleaning and custodial supplies for 2025–26; bus parts for 2025–26; and web-based K–12 guided-reading intervention and reading-skills software for one year with two one-year renewal options. Several of those motions cited a committee recommendation. All motions passed 9–0; movers and seconders are recorded in the minutes for each item.
The board approved the Head Start continuation application for 2025–26 (Agenda item 5.1). The motion was by Miss Dysart and seconded by Miss White and passed 9–0.
Finally, the board approved the administration’s recommendation to renew property insurance under the multi-insurer layered coverage, option A, at a cost of $3,123,183.78 for the period April 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026 (Agenda item 5.8). The motion by Mr. Long, seconded by Miss Lee Bowman, passed 9–0.
