Miro Foundation promotes Ag Magic on the River; board recognizes Catherine Lemoine’s state LSBA presidency

Chris Haines of the Miro Foundation visited the St. Bernard Parish School Board meeting on March 11 to promote the foundation’s 10th annual Ag Magic on the River event and the organization’s family‑day activities.
Haines said, “We’re starting to set up Thursday, Friday, and Monday for field trips for approximately 2,200 children in our greater metro area,” and that “every single third grade is attending from St. Bernard.” He described family day scheduled on Saturday, March 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where the foundation will pair the event with a parish tree giveaway sponsored by Valero. Haines said postcards with QR codes would be distributed through the district’s central office.
Board members thanked the foundation for hosting students at the Docville site and for supporting 4‑H and other programs. Miss Dysart said the event was “really really a wonderful event for our students,” and Miss Lemoine added that the foundation’s facilities support many regional 4‑H activities.
Separately under a point of privilege, the board congratulated Catherine Lemoine on being selected to serve as president of the Louisiana School Boards Association. The board offered remarks and well wishes during the meeting.
