Committee approves lower-level consequences for K-5 willful disobedience

The revised level 1 consequences listed in the packet specify: first offense, 1–2 hours of detention; second offense, 2–4 hours of detention; third offense, one day of in-school suspension (ISS); fourth offense, one to two days of ISS. Mr. Holmes noted students in grades 6–12 would remain at level 2 under the current matrix.
A motion to adopt the change was moved and seconded during the meeting. After no further discussion, members voiced approval and the motion passed by voice vote.
The committee did not amend how the matrix applies to 6–12 students; the change is explicitly limited to K–5.
Members requested no additional clarifications at the time; staff did not provide an implementation date in the meeting packet. The committee chair closed the item after the vote.
