Library director reports growth in use, fundraising and cardholders in 2024

On capital items, Jolene said the library has identified roof replacement and outdoor space development as upcoming projects. She noted gift funds paid for a goat‑based buckthorn mitigation pilot on the library hillside; the purchase was made from gift funds, not city tax dollars, and Jolene said the library intends to repeat the approach.
The council asked about nonresident use; a council member cited figures in the full report showing about 207,000 items circulated to residents and about 24,000 to nonresidents. The council discussion included encouragement to publicize library events and to coordinate communications with city staff.
