Committee accepts technical language for military pay parity and Health & Welfare federal funding restrictions

Frances Lippitt, budget and policy analyst with the Legislative Services Office, told the committee the military division is statutorily required to maintain parity with the federal general schedule for National Guard compensation but that prior restrictions would have prevented the division from implementing a needed pay change; the language provides an exemption to allow the adjustment. The committee accepted the language by unanimous consent.
Alex Williamson, budget and policy analyst with Legislative Services, said the Health & Welfare language was a correction to include standard federal funding restriction language that had been omitted from an earlier packet; the committee accepted that language by unanimous consent as well.
