The Houston County Board of Commissioners approved an assignment and assumption of ground lease for Airport Lease 1010, transferring the lease for Lot 10 from Andrew Milby to Norman Snodgrass.
County staff described the approved paperwork as an administrative document that transfers rights and responsibilities from the seller to the buyer while keeping the original lease terms in effect. A county staff member said the assignment "will have all the details in the original lease carry over" and that the lease "will renew and come due when all the rest come due in July of 26." The staff member also said airport hangars typically have five-year leases and that this particular lease falls between standard five-year terms.
A commissioner asked whether Snodgrass had a plane; the county staff member replied, "He does." The board approved the motion by voice vote.
The assignment-and-assumption approval does not change the underlying lease terms, according to county staff; it only updates signatures and the named lessee on the lease record. The board did not record roll-call votes in the meeting minutes for this item.
The board proceeded to other business following the vote.
