Walton County planning panel approves conditional use for outside storage at Lance Court property

The Walton County Planning Commission on April 3 approved a conditional use application (CU250095) to allow outside storage at 2424 Lance Court.
The approval allows the property owner and applicant to continue an existing outside-storage operation for stormwater-management materials and related equipment. The application was presented by Brad Crouch, who said he planned to operate an environmental services business from the site that stores landscape materials such as river stone and sediment and stages some equipment and roll-off containers for consolidated disposal.
The panel’s chair asked whether the operation would include long-term storage of debris collected from customers; Crouch said it would not. “We wouldn’t store it… it would be more of a consolidation of sediment and then taking it to the landfill as a bulk container,” he said.
There was no public opposition at the hearing. A board member moved to approve the conditional use; the motion carried by voice vote. The commission noted the case will go to the Walton County Board of Commissioners at its May meeting for final action.
The commission’s approval preserves the property’s existing outdoor-storage use as described by the applicant and does not change the property configuration.
