Goodhue County commissioners approve minutes, agenda and claims; committee reports note new transit route and NextGen 911 mapping work

The Goodhue County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 18 approved routine meeting business — including minutes, an amended agenda, consent items and payment of claims — and heard committee reports that included a forthcoming 3 Rivers transit route and progress on NextGen 911 mapping for school buildings.

At the start of the meeting commissioners approved minutes from a Feb. 4 regular meeting and a Feb. 11 special meeting, then approved an agenda that included an item added after the print copy was produced. The board approved the consent agenda and later approved a motion to pay the county’s claims; each motion was moved and seconded and recorded as carried in the meeting transcript.

In committee and staff reports, one commissioner said 3 Rivers Transit will begin an interconnected route to serve Red Wing, Bridal and Cannon Falls to help residents access county human services. Another commissioner reported attending the Southeast Communication annual meeting and said the county is exploring a grant to map school building interiors and site plans into the county’s GIS for NextGen 911.
