Judge Boyd revokes Ramsey Ibrahim’s community supervision, sentences him to two years in state jail

Judge Stephanie Boyd of the 187th District Court revoked community supervision for Ramsey Ibrahim on a motion to adjudicate, finding a probation violation and sentencing him to two years in a state jail facility.

The court called the case, asked the parties to announce, and reviewed alleged violations that included failing to conduct himself properly when reporting to his supervision officer. Prosecutor Andrew Garcia read the violation, and Ibrahim pleaded "true" to the allegation. The state waived remaining allegations, and the court gave Ibrahim an opportunity to speak and present mitigation through defense counsel Andrew Fraley. Ibrahim apologized in court and described personal struggles including job loss and mental-health issues; defense counsel asked that the court permit continued probation with additional programming.

Judge Boyd told Ibrahim the court summary showed the behavior was not isolated and described repeated defiance toward field officers. After receiving probation’s recommendation and hearing the defense, the court found the allegation true, revoked supervision and sentenced Ibrahim to two years in a state jail facility, with credit for time served and notice of limited appellate rights. The court also told Ibrahim he could seek probation-related support from his supervision officer and follow-up services as recommended.

The court-recorded outcome replaces community supervision with a term of confinement; the transcript records the judge's findings and the sentence imposed in open court.

Ibrahim was informed of post-conviction limits including weapons restrictions and the narrow scope of any available appeal because this was an adjudication following a probation violation.
