Treasury IT and administration seek positions to handle cybersecurity and trust‑property workload

On administrative workload, witnesses said the transfer of the trust property program to Treasury three years earlier drove a jump in annual accounting transactions from about 20,000 to well over 60,000. The administration requested eight positions, including five accountants, a procurement specialist, an HR position and a business analyst, to handle the increased volume and maintain internal controls.
Walker said the agency's IT POP seeks approximately 3.0 FTE for cybersecurity and cloud migration work; the administration characterized the requests as investments in resilience rather than large new policy initiatives.
