Harrison Central submits authorization applications for four elementary schools to IB program

District officials submitted International Baccalaureate authorization applications for four elementary schools on April 21 and expect site-visit planning and fall visits as part of the authorization process.
Harrison Central School District administrators said on April 2 that they submitted authorization applications for the International Baccalaureate (IB) program for all four elementary schools on April 21 and are preparing for fall visits as part of the authorization process.
Lisa, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction, said, “On April 21, the 4 principals and I, along with a lot of members of the leadership team had the opportunity to finalize the, applications for authorization for the 4 elementary schools. We pushed submit and so now we're waiting for them to request some additional documentation and then we'll start the process of planning for the visits in the in the fall.”
Lisa said the district’s IB manager called it unusual for four schools to submit together and that the district intends to plan visits together. She described the application as comprehensive and praised the collaborative effort of principals, coaches and directors who helped complete the submissions.
District leaders said the authorization process will next include requests for additional documentation from IB and the planning of site visits in the fall. No board action on the authorization itself was recorded at the April 2 meeting.
