Staff noted past traffic-engineering work when the Little League field was added and cautioned that narrowing spaces can create operational problems for users who load equipment from vehicles. Members suggested a stepwise approach: gather data on scheduling conflicts, coordinate event timing across town departments and neighbors, and ask staff to recommend whether layout changes, signage or targeted enforcement would be appropriate.
On rentals and reservations, staff reminded the committee that the park remains a public space; reservations guarantee a specific area for the reserving party, but staff currently lack a robust weekend enforcement presence. If a reservation-holder’s planned area is occupied, they can ask staff or the police to enforce the reservation.
