The Muskego City Plan Commission on April 2 approved a plan for a metal accessory structure for property owner Ed Hurd after staff and commissioners discussed placement, material, and screening.
Adam (staff member) said the accessory building is proposed near the southern end of Grove Way Lane, adjacent to a lake and woods, and described the structure's architectural features and a covered area. The building is just over 1,100 square feet. Because the exterior material is metal, the project required commission review. Adam said the applicant intends to keep an existing accessory building on the property; both structures are within allowable size limits for the lot.
Commissioners and staff noted the structure sits about 275 feet from Grove Way Lane, is heavily screened by trees and wetlands, and that a recent, nearby approval used similar reasoning. The commission included a condition that the applicant provide a survey to verify lot lines and ensure the building placement does not exceed lot-line offsets. The approval also includes a restriction that the building not be used for business storage or commercial activities. The resolution passed on the floor without recorded opposition.
