Delray Beach to begin full beach renourishment this November; celebrates third consecutive Blue Flag designation

Delray Beach Public Works Director Missy Barletto said the city will begin a full beach renourishment in November after sea-turtle season, and highlighted the municipality’s long-running dune restoration, water testing and public-safety programs that contributed to its third consecutive Blue Flag designation.

Barletto said Delray Beach will use sand dredged from just offshore to restore the beach’s “regular wide contour” and that a partial storm repair by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will precede the full project.
