The Saco Planning Board on Tuesday continued the public hearing and application review for the Waterfall Drive residential development — a proposed 195-unit project — to May 6, and asked staff to prepare draft findings and conditions if the applicant completes outstanding materials in time for the next meeting.
Planning staff said the applicant had requested an additional review date; because the item had been noticed previously the board emphasized it should pick a specific continuation date so members of the public could track the matter. Board members also expressed concern that some large projects have been rescheduled multiple times and said scheduling should allow other, ready applicants to be heard sooner.
Board member Jeff moved to continue the item to May 6; the motion was seconded and carried 5-0. Planning staff said given the size of the development it would be helpful for the board if draft findings and conditions were prepared in advance, and the board asked staff to provide drafts for May 6 if the application materials are complete.
The applicant will continue to submit engineering and infrastructure detail to staff; the board will take up the matter at the May 6 meeting or later if staff and the applicant need more time.
