Presentation: Stephanie Cox, executive director of the University of Florida Child Advocacy Center (local site), told the board the center offers forensic interviews, medical evaluations and free counseling; she said the center served 132 children countywide this year and 32 children locally at the Bradford site.
Motion and outcome: The proclamation was read into the record by staff and declared by Chairman Danny Riddick. Commissioner Kevin Riddick moved approval; the motion passed on an aye‑aye roll call of 5–0.
Why it matters: The county’s proclamation recognizes collaborative services among law enforcement, Department of Children and Families (DCF), mental‑health providers and community organizations and highlights the center’s local role in coordinating investigations and trauma‑informed services for children.
