Aldi opening, Olive Crossing tenants and Irvington Place among retail and construction updates in Olivette

Staff said Aldi will hold a grand-opening event on Feb. 6 at 8:45 a.m., with first-customer promotions. Lot 3 at Olive Crossing — the retail shell adjacent to the interstate ramps — is under construction and will contain multiple tenant spaces; staff said the developer will deliver the shell in early May and tenant finish work would take roughly 60–90 days thereafter.
Staff identified tenants expected at Olive Crossing’s Lot 3 including Brass Tap and Paris Baguette; Brass Tap operates a multi-tap beer concept and staff said tenant finishes will follow the shell turnover. Staff also noted other pending tenants at Olive Crossing and ongoing leasing interest for other commercial parcels.
Construction on Irvington Place (a residential development) is underway; staff reported the project will provide approximately 205 apartment units and noted that the redevelopment required removal of several older houses and street reconfiguration (Irvington and Rhine).
Staff also reported recent openings or near-openings: an optical retailer (TruVizion or similar) occupied a former space previously used by Lamar’s Donuts; Great Heart Brewery is finishing tenant work and was expected to be brewing on site, with potential early public dates discussed; Domo (a restaurant) is operating in another location with active evening business.
Ending: Staff asked commissioners to attend ribbon cuttings and grand openings when possible and flagged the March council meeting for a cross-jurisdiction discussion about the Olive Boulevard corridor with neighboring cities.
