Council authorizes up to $30,000 for North Price Road surveying ahead of grant application
Summary
Council voted to authorize the city manager to execute a contract amendment with TWM Inc. for surveying services not to exceed $30,000 for the North Price Road project. Staff said surveys are needed now to meet grant timing and that the $30,000 is a city expense even if an 80% grant is later awarded.

The Olivette City Council authorized the city manager to execute a contract amendment with TWM Inc. not to exceed $30,000 for surveying services related to the North Price Road project. The vote was unanimous.
Public works staff told the council the surveys will support a grant application to East‑West Gateway and that timely completion improves chances for award and for summer construction if the grant is awarded. Staff said the city will not be reimbursed for the $30,000 up front even if the grant (which would cover an estimated 80% of the project) is later awarded; the survey expense is an upfront city cost.
“...we want to get the surveys process started now rather than waiting till August or September. We need to complete this project. If we don't get the grant this year, we'll apply next year,” Public Works staff said during the presentation.
The motion to authorize the amendment was made and seconded; Council member Clark, Council member Weil, Chairman Pro Tem Knox and Mayor Waldman voted yes.
