Staff said construction continues in the I‑170/Olive Boulevard corridor where work near the new Costco and Target includes a multi‑tenant retail building with tenants identified as Paris Baguette and The Brass Tap and a modular drive‑through coffee facility on the site. Dierbergs is building toward the rear of the same center. The Audi dealership opened Feb. 6.
Staff reported progress on a 207‑unit, five‑story apartment building at Irvington Place (behind the Chevys and CVS property), with two levels already framed. On the industrial side, Emerson’s Fisher Rosemount subsidiary is relocating employees into a building recently vacated by Enterprise Fleet Management. Staff said Great Heart Brewery will open at 9415 Olive (opening reported for tomorrow at 4 p.m.).
City staff also noted nondevelopment items affecting residents: Party City is expected to close at the end of the month; the Animal Protective Association (APA) is exiting a county shelter contract early, with the county reinstituting some volunteer programs but details remain unclear. Staff invited board members to upcoming city‑attorney sessions on procedure and rule‑of‑order refreshers later in the year.
No formal board action was required for the update; staff said project review and permitting processes are ongoing and that some items will return to commissions for site‑plan and design review.
