Ithaca City commission approves job‑description updates, reclassifications and exam rosters

The Ithaca City Civil Service Commission approved a set of personnel actions including a revised job description for a school business post, the reclassification of a senior typist to administrative assistant and multiple exam rosters at a meeting that also reviewed appointments and removals.

Commission members said the revision to the job specification changes which office the position reports to. "No concerns. It's just an update to the job spec to reflect what that person will actually be doing and whom the person will actually be reporting to," a commission speaker said during discussion. The transcript indicates the position previously referenced as the "school business executive" will be titled the "assistant superintendent of business" in the revised draft description; commissioners voted to accept the revision.
