The Revere Conservation Commission continued review of a Notice of Intent for demolition of an existing structure and construction of a single‑family dwelling at 30 Floyd Street (DEP file 610840) because commissioners had not yet conducted a site walk required to confirm resource boundaries.
Paul Finocchio of PJF and Associates represented the applicant, Kevin Charles, and said the project had previously received a zoning variance from the Board of Appeals. He described finished floor elevations to be set at about Elevation 13 and the top of foundation near 11.1. Finocchio said the property would include six foundation openings providing about 1,200 square feet of storage area and that the existing garage would be removed and used as a staging/stockpile area during construction.
Commissioners and the applicant discussed surface materials behind the existing building; the owner described plans for two parking spaces using permeable pavers in part of the plan and leaving higher concrete in other small areas. One commissioner said the commission generally limits new hardtop asphalt where it did not previously exist and suggested pavers would be preferable; the applicant said existing concrete and grade differences factor into the design and that some impervious surface already exists.
Because the commission had not completed a site visit, the chair declined to close the hearing and asked commissioners to arrange a weekday site walk. The applicant agreed to provide contact information and work with commissioners to schedule the inspection. The item will be continued to the following meeting after the site walk and report back.
