Perry described the amendment as an administrative “clean-up” to appropriate funds for items previously budgeted.
Audit contract: Perry also presented the annual audit contract with Johnson, Murphy & Wright. The proposed contract amount is $54,575 (the packet included a lower estimate of $47,475 and an upper contingency of $54,475 in case a single audit is required). Perry said the $54,575 figure was included in the packet in case a single audit is necessary because of the amount of grant funding the city is accounting for. During the discussion a single-audit threshold of $750,000 was cited as the relevant trigger.
Beer-board special-event permit: The beer board item noted an application from Jeff Schwenke doing business as Clever Ale House LLC to vend beer at city-sponsored Food Truck Fridays (seven established dates) and at Red Bank’s 70th anniversary celebration in June at Red Bank City Park (3817 Redding Road). The applicant was not present in the work session; staff indicated the applicant is expected at the regular meeting.
Proclamation for telecommunicators: A proclamation to recognize April 2025 as National Telecommunicators Week (Resolution No. 25-1784) was presented. Staff highlighted the city’s relationship with Hamilton County 911 and cited a packet figure that Hamilton County telecommunicators handled about 14,067 calls for service for Red Bank during calendar year 2024, including roughly 816 fire and 12,251 police calls.
