The Mobile City Council on April 1 authorized an agreement with Pelican Coast Conservancy to secure a conservation easement on property located off Todd Acres Drive and Cooman Road.
Councilman Reynolds thanked the administration and Pelican Coast Conservancy for completing negotiations and bringing the easement to the council’s agenda. “I wanna extend a thank you to the administration for seeing this conservation easement through,” Reynolds said during the meeting.
City staff presented the agreement as an authorization to accept the conservation easement; the council voted in favor of the authorization. Council members described the easement as a way to preserve natural landscape and provide long-term public benefit.
No financial terms for acquisition or stewardship were presented during the council discussion at the April 1 meeting; council members characterized the action as completing a conservation partnership now reflected in an agreement on file with the clerk’s office.
