Heil presented an entry plan to the board focused on “listen, learn, lead,” describing a schedule of listening sessions, school tours and stakeholder outreach across his first 90 days to one year. “I call it listen, learn, lead,” Heil said during his presentation. He later said, “I am honored to be the new superintendent of Albert Lea Public Schools,” while outlining goals for building relationships with principals, staff, families and community partners.
