Board of Elections approves two polling‑place changes; tables one agenda item

The York County Board of Elections voted to change two polling locations and tabled a separate agenda item after a public comment about candidate paperwork and mail‑in ballot date guidance.

Elections staff member Mr. Schaefer asked the board to change the Jackson Township First Precinct polling place from Spring Grove Middle School to a site offered by the Bailey family of companies after the school declined further use as a polling location. Mr. Schaefer also asked that the Lincoln Way Fire Company/West Manchester 1 precinct be moved to the West Manchester Township Municipal Building; the board approved both changes and said the county website and voter registration cards will be updated.

Board members also voted to table agenda item number 2 after one commissioner said they had not had an opportunity to review the minutes from the last Board of Elections meeting and moved to postpone the item. The motion to table carried by voice vote.

During public comment, Ryan Soupler of Wrightsville requested clearer candidate packet instructions, particularly for the statement of financial interest and electronic filing language, and asked for county guidance on how to treat dates on mail‑in ballots after a recent court ruling. Board members said they will follow the law and that the county solicitor will advise on procedure; the board noted a ruling had been issued the day before and that staff needed time to review it.

The board approved the polling‑place changes and the tabling motion by voice vote; the meeting transcript does not show a roll‑call tally for individual members.
