Representative Michael Markoff of Coventry, chair of the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee, said Commerce has collected about two weeks of testimony from the Agency of Education (AOE), the Association of Public Agencies (APA), CTE directors and school officials and is weighing whether CTE should be organized as a single statewide district or aligned with the new regular‑school districts. "I think we're in a kind of a holding pattern until we know what the districts look like and how many there's going to be before we can make a recommendation," Markoff told members.
