The Troy Law and Ordinance Committee voted unanimously March 31 to recommend that city council accept several easements from Troy City Schools tied to the district’s redevelopment of Hook Elementary, a project the district is referring to as the North School site.
City staff member Mr. Tiddington told the committee the school district has begun replatting as part of new building work and that the city has asked the district to codify existing easements and record new storm, sanitary and bike-path easements where needed to match the current and future building footprints. Staff emphasized this request is for ordinary, non-emergency legislation; no emergency ordinance was requested.
Committee members had no substantive questions and the committee voted unanimously to forward the acceptance of the easements to full council for execution of the documents.
No public hearing or additional testimony occurred during the committee meeting on the easement documents.
