The Town of Nantucket Board of Appeals voted to continue deliberations on the Surfside Crossing matter to its April 10 meeting after staff reported an attorney was preparing a draft decision expected by Friday at noon.
Madam Chair, Chair of the Town of Nantucket Board of Appeals, asked for an update on the Surfside Crossing draft decision and invited staff to report. Billy, a staff member for the Board of Appeals, told the board, "Attorney Pucci did reach out to me, and he is working on the draft decision, which he hopes to have done by this Friday at noon. He's gonna send that to the board, for comments and such as sort of a first round. It's gonna be under the attorney client privilege with the first round of comments." Billy said the draft would be included in the April 10 packet once the attorney cleared it for public posting and that staff would post the draft separately online when permitted.
The board moved to continue the matter. John moved to continue the hearing to April 10; Lisa seconded. The chair called a roll-call vote: John, Lisa, Alisa, Jim and the chair voted aye; the motion passed unanimously.
After the continuance was approved, the board adjourned the public meeting and voted to enter executive session "not to return to the public meeting." Lisa moved to adjourn and enter executive session and Alisa seconded; the roll-call vote recorded all present members voting aye.
No public comment was taken at this meeting; the chair opened by noting the meeting would not feature public comment and that it was being conducted in a hybrid format with materials posted on the Town's website. The board directed staff to circulate the draft decision to members for the first round of comments under attorney-client privilege and to post the draft online once it was cleared for public release.
The board’s next regular meeting on which Surfside Crossing is scheduled for further deliberation is April 10 at 1 p.m., the chair said.
