Copperas Cove council approves consent agenda, fills Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful seats and rejects HVAC bids for senior center

The motion to approve items F1–F5 was made by Councilmember John Hale and seconded by Councilmember Rita Hogan; the vote carried (8–0).
On appointments, staff reported three applications for the Keep Copperas Cove Beautiful Commission from Edith Gomez, Joyce Faye Meeks and Juan Mario and recommended filling three of four available three-year terms. Councilmember John Hale nominated all three applicants and Councilmember Dale Treadway seconded the nomination. The motion carried unanimously (8–0).
On the senior center project, Park Superintendent James Neely told the council that only one HVAC bid was received — from Capstone Mechanical for $288,323 — and that no bids were received for electrical or framing. Staff recommended rejecting all HVAC bids. Councilmember Shawn Alzona moved to reject all bids for HVAC installation work; Councilmember Vanya Hart seconded. The motion carried (8–0). The council provided no further amendment or substitute motion and staff will continue procurement work for the senior center in accordance with council direction.
