Board schedules volunteer workday at Garden Club Park to mulch new plantings

She recommended volunteers bring close-toed shoes, gardening gloves, sun protection and water.
Felicia described the planting work as completed March 18 and said the workday’s immediate goal is to place mulch in pathways and beds and to finish final surface details. A parks representative later confirmed the material planned for bed surfaces is recycled shredded mulch and that pathway material will be millings (a gravelly material).
Board members volunteered for the workday; Dan confirmed he could attend and several members said they would check their schedules. Felicia and her director Alex will be on site, and Parks and Recreation facilities director Richard Blankenship is expected to attend to coordinate tools and staff support.
