Lee Barrows, a retired teacher, told the board he had asked district staff how many National Board‑certified teachers remain active in the parish; he read a list and said the district has 31 NBPTS‑certified teachers still teaching in St. Tammany Parish. “I was, curious to find out how many national board active still teaching the parish teachers we have… we actually have 31 still act, still teaching in the parish,” Barrows said.
