The lease is structured to renew automatically on a year‑to‑year basis unless the county gives affirmative notice to terminate.
County staff said the location has served the tax office well since the move about five and a half years ago and that the space is on the tax rolls. No alternative space was identified during the discussion, and commissioners said the one‑year term gives the county flexibility while longer‑term plans for a permanent facility continue.
Commissioner Gerald moved to approve the lease update; Commissioner Greg seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote with the three present voting in favor.
The approved document in the agenda packet is an updated lease agreement; the court did not authorize any additional appropriation or capital project in this vote.
