Commissioners approve consent items, move legal and budget matters to executive session

The court approved consent items 1 through 3 by unanimous voice vote after a motion by Commissioner Reese and a second by Commissioner Rios. The court then took up regular business and voted to place multiple matters into executive session under Texas Government Code §551.071 (consultation with attorney). Items moved to executive session include a legal determination of ownership for East Net Road near PFW and the TexTop property (requested by the Howard County Junior Livestock Show Association), budget amendments for fiscal year 02/2025 related to building work for Precincts 3 and 4 (including discussion of a contract the court said had not been executed), and consultation on approval of media contracts for county marketing and a local agreement with Maverick County Water Improvement District regarding the Burnt Bridge. The record shows the court retired to executive session at 10:10 a.m.
