Maverick County Commissioners authorize ADCOM contract, lease steps for Operation Lone Star sites, terminate Bryton contract review and approve budget and event

The Maverick County Commissioners Court on Jan. 13 unanimously authorized multiple contract and budget actions, approved a permit for the Maverick County Junior Livestock Show and directed legal review on a software-contract termination.

Let the record reflect that the court reconvened from executive session at 07:01PM on 01/13/2025, the clerk said.

The most substantive actions came early: the court authorized formal execution, pending final legal review, of a contract for ADCOM system payments and technology services after a motion by Commissioner Reese and a second by Commissioner Ramos. The motion carried unanimously.

The court also moved to direct legal staff to review and, if appropriate, proceed with termination of the county's contract with Bryton Software. Commissioner Reese moved the item; a second was recorded and the court voted unanimously to authorize legal review and to provide information to the judge's office to pursue formal termination.

On emergency-management matters, the court authorized steps related to Operation Lone Star (OLS). The body instructed County staff identified as “Eagle” to determine a fair market value and to draft a lease agreement for property use tied to OLS operations; the judge was authorized to execute the lease once drafted. Commissioner Ramos made the motion and Commissioner Reese seconded; the vote was unanimous.
