Representatives Aaron Lowe (director of facilities, Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino) and a tribal colleague described recurring roadway problems on Lucky Eagle Drive, which the tribe said is maintained by the county and contains multiple entrances and crosswalks to the casino property. “These issues have definitely have concerns for our elderly guests,” Aaron Lowe said, describing issues beyond the tribe’s capacity to repair.
County officials confirmed a formal letter had been submitted with the request and said the county’s road and bridge department and the precinct commissioner would explore repair options. The court approved a motion to renew the IGA to maintain the government-to-government relationship and to facilitate potential cooperative work between the tribe and county.
